Soon, America may be at war
Soon, America may be at war

It's really a frightening concept if you really sit down and consider it. I think it's apparent from my web pages that I am not against the use of deadly force when necessary, but I am apprehensive about possible action against Afghanistan by our military forces. Not about the conflict itself. It's the perceptions of our current "allies" and the very basis of American freedom. What concerns me is whether we have proof of the source of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Without clear evidence, we risk not only alienating our allied countries, but also drawing in more terrorist attacks by those who might see our actions as no better than those of our attackers. That may be the case anyway, even with proof. However, our response will have been a proper and necessary action, no matter what the consequences are. It will follow the fundamental American philosophy that someone is innocent until proven guilty. Make no mistake, I feel that a response is necessary; we just need to make sure we get the right people, lest we drive away those sympathetic to our cause, invite more avoidable violence, and compromise our own core beliefs.

9/11
For some reason, the most moving part of this whole horrible tragedy to me has been the outpouring of support from the citizens of other countries. There's just something about the huge piles of flowers placed in front of American embassies across the world and the demonstrators with their signs and posters of support.

"Tastes bland to me."
Friday I lost my sense of taste. I'm not sure when, I just know that it happened some time after lunch. The hot roast beef and mashed potatoes were very good, I know that much. But that night, I discovered the pizza had no flavor. It wasn't just the pizza, though. Nothing had any flavor. Obviously, the problem is me. The only thing I can think of was the hot chocolate I drank too quickly Friday morning. But my tongue doesn't feel burned, and lunch, which came after the drink, was certainly flavorful. So here I am, with no apparent sense of taste at all. Sometimes loss of taste can actually be attributed to loss of smell. However, my sense of smell seems as good as ever.

It's depressing suddenly being without one of the basic five senses. Every food is now more bland than plain white rice. Every drink is as tasteless as a glass of water. Will I never be able to again taste the flavor of a perfectly seasoned medium-cooked sirloin? Or chocolate? Or even root beer?

Homeworld 2 is coming!
Yes! Homeworld 2 lives. I know that I never put a lot of playtime into the game after I beat it (never could seem to find anyone to play multiplayer), but the singleplayer aspects of Homeworld and Homeworld: Cataclysm were spectacular. The Homeworld series is a superb RTS series, and I can't wait for the next one.
