Linux vs. NT
The third machine is the client machine on the same network. At this machine I sat a fully certified Microsoft Engineer and asked him to execute a simple change in the NT machines configuration using this client machine. I performed this exact same request on the Linux box, this time using a long haired freak who happened to have installed Linux a couple times on his machine. Simply, I asked each to alter the netmask on their TCP/IP configurations. Here were the results. The MSE"What the hell? This client is AIX? You're asking the impossible! It's not possible!"
The Linux guy"No problem."Hence, I rest my case that Linux is apparently supperior in every way. The NT user was rather limited in every capacity. Even when altering the client machine from an AIX machine, to a generic Win98 machine, he was still unable to perform any of the requests made. Even when given an advantage, the NT machine suffered horrible performance. Eventually NT will go away and be replaced with the newer OS, Linux. It seems quite obvious from these benchmarking tests.
