I just buzzed through some of this real quick, so I'm not sure who the authors are...
My question is, have you ever read the "Gunslinger" series by Stephen King? (This is a kickass story almost completely unrelated to his usual horror style...)
You may or may not have any SP level intentions (I know how hard mods are) but those books would be a great source of ideas should the need arise. Not to mention a very addicting read.
