Back from the party  Tuesday, November 21, 2000 1:21 PM
Okay, now that Free Range Action Gaming has ended (for now), I can get back to more coding! Shadowfire's sent me a revised UMP45 model, and I plan on posting some large shots of it and the other weapon models we have done in the screenshots section. They won't be in-game shots just yet, but you'll be able to see some larger images of what we're going to be including.

There are about 17 bullet points on my code to-do list before I'm comfortable releasing a Beta version of the game. Around 6 of these are simply polishing up some changes I've already made. I'm really pushing to get this Beta out as soon as I can, but keep in mind that the game depends on models and sounds in addition to the code.

I did a brief demo of what we have so far at F.R.A.G. 7 to a small group of people who were interested in learning more about the mod. All seemed pretty impressed with what we've got so far.

Looking for modellers  Wednesday, November 8, 2000 2:45 PM
Even though we've been making a lot of progress, scheduling conflicts have left the Night's Edge development team in need of more modellers. We're looking for talented 3D artists familiar with 3D Studio MAX to create weapon models, skins, and animations based on concept sketches and a photograph archive. Anyone interested in joining should contact me at <stone@rps.net>.
A couple more screenshots  Monday, October 23, 2000 3:06 PM
That's right, a couple more screenshots are now available. I know it's not much, but so much of the work that's been going into Night's Edge recently can't really be deomonstrated in screenshots. Anyway, today's pics demonstrate the inventory and loot menus. The inventory menu will be used to select weapons and equipment (if the nextweap and prevweap keys are too slow for you) or simply drop them. The loot menu allows you to ghoulishly rob the corpses of your dead opponents or (gasp!) teammates. After all, you wouldn't want all that good equipment to go to waste, would you?
First Screenshots  Sunday, September 24, 2000 7:11 PM
Okay, our first five screenshots are up and it only took me 4 months to do it. :P Anyway, head over to the screenshots section to take a look at them. These show some actual in-game shots demonstrating an early version of our HK SOCOM pistol as well as the purchasing menu system we've implemented.
Yes, we're still alive!  Wednesday, September 20, 2000 2:48 PM
Man, I've been really bad about keeping this page updated. I'm sorry! I know we've been promising screenshots for a while and I think we're almost ready to release some. We need to make a few minor tweaks to the HUD we've got now and then we can start showing some examples of what we intend to release. We've got a dozen weapon models done and we're in the process of finishing up a couple of skins and animating them. So expect some screenshots soon, and this time I really mean it.
