The current state  Tuesday, May 8, 2001 11:08 AM
Okay, I know a lot of people are wondering "What's going on with Night's Edge? What's the 411, man? WHEN IS THE BETA COMING OUT?!" Soon! I swear! Except for a few tweaks, the code is DONE. Most all of the weapons I wanted to include are FINISHED. But with a new playmode comes new maps, and that's what we're focusing on now. We've got one map for our Wet Works playmode finished, and several others in the works. I've learned in the past it's best not to skimp on maps when doing releases, so I'm thinking that we should include at least 3 maps in our first beta. I'll keep you all informed.

By the way, keep an eye out for the two Night's Edge interviews which should be posted soon. I'll provide links when they're up.

New weapon renders  Saturday, April 28, 2001 7:28 PM
You've no doubt seen the IMI TAR-21 assault rifle depicted in some of the screenshots I posted a few days ago. I just posted a shot of the weapon as rendered in 3D Studio. In addition, the Sako TRG-22 sniper rifle was recently finished and put into the game. I've also posted a render of that gun. It's a sweet and accurate long-range bolt-action rifle that all you snipers out there will be dying to get your hands on.
Screenshots galore!  Monday, April 23, 2001 10:33 PM
Holy cow! I just posted 38 new screenshots of in-game Night's Edge action for your viewing pleasure. These don't really give away all the game's secrets :) but they do give you a sneak peek into the frantic action of this game. We just released another internal alpha test to the development team, and it looks like the code may be in a near ready state. There are just a couple of weapons left to model and animate and then we're set. I had initially thought about releasing the beta before those weapons were done, but now we're so close.... Plus the final touches are going into the Night's Edge maps. So... I'll keep everyone updated on our progress. I think I'm as anxious to release the beta as a lot of players are to download it.
Modellers wanted (still)  Friday, April 6, 2001 7:30 PM
Night's Edge, a futuristic team-based mod for Unreal Tournament, is looking for skilled weapon modellers. Anyone interested should have at least basic experience with modelling, skinning, and animating in 3D Studio MAX R3, as well as working with textures in a graphics program (such as Photoshop). Weapon models needed will include contemporary firearms as well as futuristic designs. Contact Quintin Stone for more information or to join the team.
    Internal Alpha3 released  Thursday, April 5, 2001 11:59 PM
For those of you waiting breathlessly for the release of Night's Edge, we're one step closer to that with the internal release of our 3rd alpha test version. Though some (9) minor issues need to be resolved that I know of, game play has been smooth, flawless, and very fast-paced so far. Hopefully this next round of testing won't turn up too many mistakes I made. ;)
