Beta 4 released | Sunday, July 22, 2001 8:38 PM |
|
Looks like I was wrong. One more beta patch to go. Beta 4 is now available. This fixes the recently discovered vanishing armor bug, plus the off-center Vortex beam, the grenade death message, and the problem with bots shooting through each other at extremely close ranges.
This also includes a UT mutator that replaces the standard Unreal Tournament weapons with guns that have Night's Edge models. These aren't the actual NE weapons, mind you. They work like regular UT guns, no aiming or reloading involved, and they've been modified to be a little more balanced (since there's no buying involved). |

Relic mutators | Saturday, July 21, 2001 7:55 PM |
| Just a heads up. I've had a couple of reports of problems encountered when trying to use the Relic mutators with a Night's Edge game. I'd recommend not using them until I can track down the problem. |

| We've got a lot of mirrors up for downloading Beta 3. Much thanks to Phantom Games, UTO, Unreal Tournament Station, eXtreme Players, and PlanetUnreal for providing disk space and bandwidth. |

Version Beta 3 released | Sunday, July 15, 2001 12:07 AM |

The latest Beta patch fixes a couple of the remaining bugs in the code. First off, it provides the fixed game browser code for those of you who have had trouble with it. Second, it eliminates a number of "warning" messages that have appeared so often in log files. And third, much to many players' enjoyment, I've fixed the bug that prevented Night's Edge weapons from breaking map items, like glass. Like I said a little while ago, there aren't any new maps or features in this latest release. I expect this to be the last Beta patch... but I think I've said that before. :)
You can download it from our Phantom Games site until some of our helpful members of the UT community again put up some mirrors of this latest version. |

Patch updated | Saturday, July 14, 2001 12:30 PM |
|
There were apparently some compatibility issues with the 091-to-092 zip file. Not sure how that happened, but I've updated that zip, so it shouldn't cause any more problems with the versions not matching.
I expect to release an update shortly to solve some issues with unexpected crashes and as a automatic fix for the game browser problem. This is planned to be a bug fix only, but we do have at least 5 maps under construction as I write this, and I expect that some of them will be finished and released shortly. |
