'RickyTodd' sent me these screenshots a little while ago of some of the maps he's been working on for the 1.0 release. Check 'em out, and I've got some more to put up tomorrow.

Revising bot AI  Friday, December 28, 2001 5:51 PM
Hope everyone is having a good holiday season. I'm currently revamping the bot AI, the first time I've really gotten down and dirty into the core of the bots' brains. And as you might have guessed, it's some pretty complex stuff. When I'm done, hopefully some new functionality will be available to the bots, namely better purchasing during preptime, better team cohesion and support of players, the ability to loot dead bodies, being able to bandage, use grenades, take stims when necessary, and use hand-to-hand weapons. Whew, what a mouthful. Anyway, this is one of the last major code revisions for 1.0. Hopefully once this is completed, we can predict a release date for the new version.
Looking for talent!  Wednesday, December 12, 2001 9:17 PM
As you may have noticed above, there are two new links on the main page. The first link, as you may be familiar with, is the mod FAQ. This is where you can find the answers to a lot of the basic questions about the game. The second link is an open invitation to any developers out there who might be interested in joining up with the Edge Team. You a mapper or a modeler? Check it out, let me know.
New screenshots!  Friday, November 30, 2001 10:17 AM
G'morning, everyone! Got some new screenshots for you this fine, warm (where I am) Friday morning. This is an eclectic mix of shots from my playtesting over the past couple weeks. You'll see some of the newly implemented features in action, such as the devastating assault shotgun, the brutal autolaser, the new bleeding system (with subsequent blood trails), and the new ability to bandage yourself. Check 'em out.

Development continues towards new version  Wednesday, November 28, 2001 12:23 PM
Sorry for my lack of news posts recently. The Night's Edge is continuing to move forward towards the big version 1.0 update, especially with the time I got to work during the Thanksgiving holiday. Turkey and gravy anyone? I'm the in the process of adding in the new weapons that are finished and man, are these things brutal! I've also got the long-awaited bleeding and bandaging systems in that will hopefully add a new dimension to the combat. Plus you can track a wounded opponent by the blood trail they leave behind. There's also some game enhancements that are done, such improved sound effects and the ability to shoot through obstacles. This all in addition to the new playmodes (Sabotage and Industrial Espionage) under development. So stay tuned for more updates.
