Actually, that was going to be my first guess.

As to the bot-kicking problem, play around with the SV_BOTDETECTION cvar in the server config. The strange thing is that I changed nothing related to the bot between 1.1 and 1.2. So if you notice a problem with false bot spotting, use SV_BOTDETECTION to disable bot detection. The info on that cvar is in the default config or the README file.
