    The Final (?) Patch Released?  Monday, January 6, 2003 9:54 PM  
Okay, folks, here it is. The 1.2 Night's Edge patch is now out. This fixes a few various bugs and it also adds the FN FAL, proximity mine, and 18 cybernetic enhancements. This will probably be the final Night's Edge patch unless there's a major bug or game imbalance that pops up. Enjoy, guys. It's been a great run.

The Night's Edge 1.2 update is currently undergoing testing, with lockups and crashes a thing of the past! (We hope.) So we'll be taking this opportunity to make sure everything is working smoothly and the new cyber prices are pretty well balanced.

I'm currently working on resolving a sudden and inexplicable infinite loop that cropped up in the bot code. All our testing is on hold until this can be fixed. I'll let you guys know.

Cyber is done, the FN FAL is done, the proximity mine is basically done, and I've managed to track down a problem with the AI that lead to bots sometimes being unable to fire their weapons at all. All in all, things are looking good. The next step is to do remote server testing, which has always turned up the most problems. In this case, the testing is to make sure that all of the client-server aspects of the cybernetic implants function properly without any visual oddities or malfunctions.

Another network outage. This time it looks like a lightning strike took out our DSL modem. Doh. Going to finishing up the prox mine and woking on the bot AI now.
