PLEASE NOTE: Gunslinger Quake is no longer under active development by
anyone that I know of. To my knowledge there are no active servers
either, but there are people still playing. If you want to contact other
interested parties, check out the forums.

Gunslinger Code Available | Wednesday, Feb 23, 2000 4:04 PM |
The source code for Gunslinger v1.2 is now available here.
It contains project files for Microsoft's Visual C++ 5.0 as well as a
makefile that you can use to compile on Linux (and possibly port to other
UNIX platforms).
In addition, it contains the RPS Menu system for Q2, which is what I
used to create all the menus in GQ. It's a separate package and should be
easily incorporated into any mod. It's more powerful and flexible than any
other menu code I've seen for Q2 (I've only seen a couple, mind you).
Do whatever you like with it and have fun.

Gunslinger Code | Saturday, Jan 29, 2000 3:38 PM |
Okay, I'm in the process of puting together the Gunslinger DLL code to
give out to those interested in helping out. I know it's taking a while,
but I've got a lot of other stuff going on at the same time.

Making The Source Available? | Wednesday, Dec 29, 1999 08:25 AM |
Several people have asked me if I have any plans to make the source
code available so that others may fix problems and add enhancements. I
guess that's not really a problem, but this has been my vision and I am
not going to hand full access to this site and project over to someone
else. The arrangement would be: I make the code available to anyone who
wants it (on request) and any changes they make they submit to me so I can
put the updates on the site. I am not interested in taking credit for
anyone else's work. If you help out on GQ, I will praise your name from
here to Timbuktu. I am simply trying to retain creative control over
Gunslinger Quake2 as a whole. If I find someone reliable and trustworthy,
I may end up passing the project on to them.
Downsides to doing it this way: with multiple people working on it,
there will probably be simultaneous changes to the same files. At this
point, I can't be counted on to resolve coding conflicts, so it will most
likely be up to you to take the changes I send out and integrate them into
the code you've been working on.
Does this work for those of you interested in helping out? Is this a
ridiculous notion? Write me and let me know.
