History: The Lattice Power Cell was introduced in several different energy-based weapons in early 2156. Strangely enough, it was produced and marketed by a number of Arcadian corporations almost simultaneously. This led many to believe that an agent inside one of the organizations sold the designs to rival corps for quite a bit of money. However, every group that introduced the power cell at the time still claims the honor of its initial design.
This ingenious power source is what makes modern high-energy electronics possible. Not only is it compact and lightweight, its lattice crystal core stores several level of magnitude more electrical power than any other battery technology in existence. The core is also fully rechargable, and the particular design allows complete control over the flow of electricity. This means it is possible to use one power cell to recharge another.
Description: Unlike other ammo types, the power cell has few inherent aspects to it. By itself, it has no capability of defeating armor or inflicting wounds. Those features are completely dependent on the weapon being used. In addition, a power cell isn't loaded into a piece of equipment like most other ammo types. Instead, it is used to recharge the internal battery (usually a lattice power cell itself) of a weapon or other item.
