The RPS Role-Playing System is no longer being developed. It was initially conceived to fill a very particular niche: we needed a general, open system for use with our online Night's Edge MUSH. For various reasons, NE MUSH never opened, but I continued to work on RPS-Squared as a universal game system that might possibly be used in other endeavors. At this point, however, there are more than enough mature universal systems available on the market (such as GURPS, Unisystem, D20) to make RPS-Squared completely superfluous to my needs -- especially considering it has never undergone any real playtesting to check for balance issues, play flow, or even logical consistency (not to mention nearly everything written is a first draft). While other people (online game developers) might still find the system helpful, it isn't useful enough to me to continue working on it. For now it will stay up and available to those who want to read it. Some time in the future it will either be archived and available for download, or removed entirely.
